Founded Alecto Recruitment Ltd in 2009, and started my career path into Recruitment in May 2007. Every day we assist job seekers find new positions nationally and internationally. We have often changed candidates lives for the better, assisting them in better work-life balances along with increased remunerations. Since inception we have placed well over 6000 candidates into a broad range of markets! We genuinely feel we make a difference for our clients too! We want them to feel they are getting a genuine return on investment, so the satisfaction in both parts of the process is very rewarding. This is why I love what we do, and have a genuine passion for Recruitment. We make a difference, and were proud of that!
As Joint MD, Dean, along with Sean manages the day to day operations of Alecto. We have built a superb team in the last 10 years or so, and we put a huge emphasis on building a team of qualified and experienced Recruitment Professionals. Recruitment is one of the most competitive markets in the UK, so in order for us to be at the forefront (as we are), and to keep competing at the highest level, we have to keep learning and improving in our profession. We invest heavily in our employees with a genuine view to be the best recruiters possible. This continues to be our focus.
Outside of the office my spare time is spent with my wife and our two beautiful children.
I started in Recruitment back in 2007 and founded Alecto Recruitment in 2009. I always had the desire to start and build my own business from a young age, so the fact I could do it with one of my best friends made the decision easier. We also wanted to create a company where success was rewarded, employees enjoyed going to work every day and in turn make our service to clients and candidates create real value.
Not only do I get to see our clients grow and see the difference we make to candidates lives every day, I also get to see our employees grow as people. Whether it is seeing them get promotions, get married or buy their first house!
Most of my spare time is spent with my wife and my young daughter. If I get the chance, I will be on the golf course!
I joined Alecto back in 2010 as my first role in the recruitment industry. Initially joining the business as the first ever employee and as a trainee consultant, over the years I have progressed through the ranks, into various management positions and now am proud to be Associate Director for the company.
Before Alecto, I spent several years in sales and prior to that in education where I studied Business, IT and Law.
I ended up in recruitment after being approached by the two founding directors’ Dean and Sean to come on board and assist them in growing the Alecto brand. An opportunity to be part of something special and really make a difference, proved too much to turn down.
Throughout the years I’ve always led from the front and have been one of the most consistent and top performers within the business.
I’m also the reigning pool champion and arguably the finest table tennis player to ever grace the Alecto tables.
In my spare time you can find me either chilling out, playing football, watching football, or playing football manager.
I started my recruitment career with Alecto recruitment in 2013. Before working at Alecto, I had a number of sales based jobs, including being a CEMAP qualified (Mortgage advice). I made the move to recruitment as the position required a lot of skills I already had. I’ve always worked in a consultative style, matching products to requirements, so doing the same with candidates and roles was an easy move. At the time the financial markets were still very unsteady, but even now I’m glad to say I’ve never looked back.
I love working in recruitment. I like the fact that I get to have a real effect on someone’s life.
Work is generally a huge part of people’s lives and being able to improve this for another person is a great feeling.
Outside of work, I became a dad in 2019, so the family takes up nearly all my spare time at the moment. If I do ever find myself free, I like a good poker game or going out with friends; Snooker and darts being a favourite to play.
I joined the business in 2012 as a Database administrator, prior to joining the company I worked as a Mortgage Advisor. With a young family and a demanding job, I wanted a job in which I could build a career but have family time also.
The risk from joining a large corporate company to a company with just 8 employees at the time well and truly paid off as I have grown within the business to now a Finance Manager. I love that I have no two days the same and am always busy whether it is helping with internal matters or managing the credit control within the business.
Outside of work, the majority of my time is running around after my football mad son, whether it’s taking him to training or watching matches. I try to find time to go to the gym or getting out for a run when possible.
I joined Alecto back in September 2012 and have worked my way up from being trainee up to Recruitment Manager. I run a large team within the office which specialises in Fire & Security Engineering. I also take on a portion of the training for both our trainees and consultants who may want to enhance their recruitment skillset.
Outside of work I enjoy running, playing Golf and DIY. I’m known for being slightly OCD.
I started in recruitment back in June 2012, however I didn’t join Alecto until January 2014.
Before working in recruitment, I was managing a large team and handling recruitment in a sales environment for O2 Telefonica. I chose to join Alecto because although they had a solid reputation and a vision for growth. I’m pleased to say that much of that vision has been realised already and we are continuing to grow.
I like the challenges that my job gives me. Every day is different, and I get to find the best talent for a variety of industries. I enjoy the buzz of the office and being able to think outside the box.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my 3 kids, spending days out exploring and visiting different places. I am also a Manchester City Fan (Since birth), I’m a keen photographer and I have a growing portfolio of work (including all the website shots).
I started with Alecto in May 2014 – way back when! Prior to recruitment, I spent many years working in the jewellery retail sector as a BDM and Account Manager for Michael Kors, Armani and Skagen watches.
I have always been intrigued with the recruitment industry. I have friends who have worked in recruitment for many years and really thrived on the challenge it brings, so this is something that really appealed to me particularly given that building and maintaining relationships is something that comes naturally to me.
Recruitment is a very rewarding career. Like any other job, it can be hard work and very frustrating at times. The buzz from placing someone into their perfect position or assisting a company in filling an almost impossible vacancy is something that takes some beating. It’s a challenge, but one I enjoy every day and no two days are the same.
Outside of work I am a big family man, spending as much time as possible with my beautiful wife and son who was born in 2018. Walks in the park or trips to the zoo are a common past time, but I do balance this carefully to allow enough time to train as I am a keen cyclist.
I started in recruitment back in August 2014 with Alecto Recruitment. I came here with a very strong sales background as I have worked in multiple sales types positions such as Business development manager, District Sales manager, Sales mentor, Business to business sales executive, face to face, face to consumer and telesales. I was looking for a new challenge within a sales type position where I could have the opportunity to help grow along with the company. Alecto were exactly what I was looking for and after all this time, I can safely say it was the right choice.
Within my position, I enjoy the variation from each day to the next. The job has multiple disciplines which ensures I am always on top of my game and learning. Working in a madhouse also helps the day go by…
Outside of work I enjoy watching films, eating in and out, going to the gym and spending time with my friends and family
I started life in Recruitment in 2012, however I have been with Alecto since 2014. Before working in recruitment, I was a Builder and Salesman. That said, I didn’t look for a job in recruitment I just fell into it as recruiters kept trying to find me jobs and it seemed more interesting and allowed me to make use of my people skills. In work, I love managing and training the staff and then seeing the work pay off and their careers flourish. It gives me satisfaction in work, knowing that I am on the right path. In my spare time I spend time with my family and enjoy watching sports such as football and boxing.
I joined Alecto in January 2015 and it was my first job in the industry. Before this I went to the University of Leicester and worked in a variety of roles. I decided to take the position at Alecto because working in a busy sales environment really appealed to me. I’ve always enjoyed speaking to people at different levels and I now get to do this all day long.
I like the fact that no day or week is ever really the same and the gratitude from a pleased client and candidate at the end of the recruitment process never gets old.
Outside of work, when I’m not with my young daughter I enjoy watching (and playing when I can) football, golf and cricket.
Senior Recruitment Consultant
Construction, Built Environment, Civil Engineering
I started with Alecto in February 2015 as a Trainee Recruiter, having had no prior recruitment experience. I joined Alecto straight after finishing my A Level’s at Peter Symonds College – studying Economics, Politics & Geography. I deferred a place at Reading University to study Economics which I latterly declined due to enjoying my first year working in recruitment and haven’t looked back since.
I was interested in starting my career in a profession which allowed me to develop a well-rounded Sales and Business Development skillset…. The money was a big plus too! Working in recruitment is very rewarding. It is very satisfying when helping people who you have great relationships with. Being responsible for someone’s pay rise, shorter trip to work, better work-life balance is great.
In my personal life, I am a real sports enthusiast and am a season ticket holder at both Portsmouth FC and Hampshire Cricket. I enjoy watching American Football and have recently attended a game in New York. I own of a 1988 Fender Stratocaster which I enjoy playing in my leisure time and also keep a close eye on current affairs, politics and economics.
I started my career in Recruitment back in 2013 and joined Alecto in April 2015. Before I started my career in Recruitment, I studied Sociology, Law and Sports Diploma at College.
When I left college, I spent the best part of a year in Australia travelling, and had the opportunity to spend time on a cattle station. When I returned from my travels, I worked in a direct Sales environment before starting in Recruitment.
Having made the decision, I wanted to follow a career within Sales, a friend suggested Recruitment.
I went for an Interview at the company he was working for, and the rest is history.
Recruitment was the obvious path for me, giving me the opportunity to work within a driven sales environment but also feel a part of a team.
Every day is different in the Recruitment industry. This prevents our workdays becoming mundane.
The biggest satisfaction for me within this role is being able to help people. We effect so many people’s lives in a positive way, and it really is the best feeling when you know you have helped someone better themselves.
In my spare time, I am a very active and social person. My biggest passion in my personal life is Football. Very much the first love in my life. I enjoy the team comradery, and winning trophies is an added bonus. My friends also play a very important part in my life, so I try to see them as much as I can.
I started in Recruitment in January 2015 and joined Alecto in July 2015. I studied A Levels in Psychology, Law, and English Literature & Language at Portsmouth College, but then decided against going to university, so realised I needed to find myself a career as I was working part time in a pub!
One of the main things that is great about Recruitment is that you are always busy! I enjoy speaking to people from varied backgrounds every day and learning about the different way’s companies operate, but most of all I love being around the Alecto team.
When I am not at work, I am busy being a wife and mum. I like to collect Zoflora, fabric conditioner and wax melts.
I started in recruitment back in October 2014 and joined Alecto in 2015. Before working in recruitment, I was studying for a postgrad degree at university. When I finished my degree, I could go into language teaching, translation or interpreting but I wanted to develop myself and my skills in sales and considered recruitment a good opportunity to do so.
I love working in recruitment, It’s like running your own business within a business. Always learning, improving from people around you keeps you on your toes and there’s always something you can do better and drive to improve.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending my evenings and weekends with my wife and daughter and occasionally turning up to Fratton park to show my face every now and then.
I started recruitment in 2014 and joined Alecto Recruitment in 2016. I worked in telesales before recruitment which was an easier transition. Starting in recruitment was a happy accident, the telesales company that I worked for owned a recruitment company, I got an opportunity to move across and start a new career.
I love working in recruitment. The financial reward, the everyday being different in the industry and the reward of finding people new jobs and careers.
In my spare time I play a lot of sport, mainly tennis and golf. I play tennis for my local club in County leagues and reached a top 10 county ranking when I was a junior. I also like to dine out at nice restaurants and socialise with friends.
I started recruitment back in 2015 however I did not join Alecto until May 2016. Before working in recruitment, I studied Media and Culture at Bristol University of West England. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I left Uni, however a friend of mine worked within recruitment and recommended it to me.
What I love about my job is the sense of achievement in helping someone find a new position. I love being able to set myself goals in and out of work.
In my spare time I am either found at the gym or watching bad reality TV in my slippers. I enjoy seeing friends, going on road trips and looking after my pet Guppies!
I started my time in Recruitment and Alecto back in February 2017. Before this I had worked in a couple different Sales positions. Starting in Direct sales ‘Door to Door’ working for 100% commission only where I was very successful, working up to a Regional Sales Manager within a leading Engineering Manufacturer. After being made redundant and being advised by friends to look into Recruitment I decided to take on the challenge and haven’t looked back!
I love speaking to different people daily, however my main ‘buzz’ is building strong relationships with people and feeling like this isn’t really work, just chatting to people on a daily basis.
Outside of work I have a son, born in 2016, who is absolutely everything to me, and I am a Semi professional Magician and create Magic for Magicians around the world, heavily relying on Sleight of Hand.
I started in recruitment back in 2015 and joined Alecto in 2017. Before this, I studied Music Performance and worked a number of sales jobs; both face to face and telephone based.
After a year of working within a 100% commission based face to face sales role, I came to the realisation that I needed to utilise my people skills in an industry that offered genuine progression and a long term career; that’s when I found recruitment.
I’m now able to utilise my skills while also building new ones in an ever-changing industry where no two days are the same.
I love the industry because although it may be a cliché, we genuinely help and potentially change peoples lives on a daily basis; while also helping companies find the specialist staff they need.
I’m able to build meaningful professional relationships with employers, advise on industry trends and consultant candidates on career moves; all while retaining that sales ‘buzz’ when we successfully meet our clients requirements.
Outside of work I’m a keen guitar player and recently turned my hand to the piano. Most of the time I’m out hiking with my German Shepherd, spending time with friends and family; or completing DIY projects at my house which this industry has enabled me to buy!
I joined Alecto Recruitment in June 2017. In my position of Database Administrator, I keep the company’s internal CRM system as accurate as possible for both our client and candidate contacts. I like to keep fit whether at the gym or walking up mountains with the family and also meeting up with friends for a well deserved mum’s spa break!
I joined the Alecto team in 2017 as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant working in the AV industry. Since then I have worked my way up to Senior Consultant helping candidates and clients in the Home Automation, Corporate AV and Live Events sectors, it’s great speaking to both clients and candidates in the industry, some of the projects they work on are truly astounding.
I started my career in sales, aged 18, at an estate agents in my home town of Petersfield but prior to working to Alecto I worked as a building labourer, a job I enjoyed, but as the day I kicked over a bucket of water in a customer’s living room and got plaster in my eye will attest to, a job that was maybe not my natural calling. When I’m not at work I enjoy playing football or meeting my friends in the pub to sit and pass judgement on the professionals who are paid millions of pounds a year to play football. I’m also a lover of music and I can be found watching acts varying from Oasis tribute bands, the rappers Giggs and Future or legendary rock band The Eagles.
I started in recruitment in July 2017 and have since grown into an experienced recruiter with extensive knowledge in the Fire and Security industry.
Before working in recruitment, I was a Sales/Careers Advisor at The Training Rooms, whilst utilising my Level 3 beauty and massage qualification as a part time self-employed therapist.
I decided that I wanted a change from the sales and felt recruitment would be ideal as I enjoy speaking to new people and the accomplishment of helping them secure a new opportunity. I thoroughly enjoy my job as I have the chance every time I speak to a client or candidate to help someone make a positive change in their company or life, this in itself makes the job rewarding.
Outside of work I spend my time socialising with friends, family and my beautiful puppy Koda. Also shopping (like every woman) and spontaneous weekends away.
Fun facts about me: I am a fully qualified beauty/massage therapist and once performed on a west end stage dressed as a clown.

I got to know about Recruitment and Alecto through Kerrie Smith, also a current employee at Alecto, during my time as a Lifeguard at David Lloyd where Kerrie also attended.
A big part of why I enjoy my job is the people I work with. Assisting people in finding their next career move is rewarding.
Outside of work I enjoy; swimming, going to the gym, playing rugby at my local club Havant RFC and travelling as much as I can.
I started in recruitment back in early 2018, however I didn’t join Alecto until July 2018. Before working in recruitment, I was at SSE working as a Customer Service Advisor for nearly 4 years.
After working at SSE for nearly 4 years assisting Gas Engineers with Job bookings, I was ready for a new challenge and ready to take on new opportunities within the Gas Industry.
What I love about recruitment, is that every day is different, and every week is a new challenge. The true fulfilment I get from this job is helping Gas Engineers find new positions that could be life changing and helping businesses grow their companies within the industry.
In my free time I enjoy, going to the gym, socialising with friends and reading fashion magazines.
I started in recruitment in April 2019. Before working in recruitment I was a personal insurance broker, and before that I was abusing my power as a Senior at Greggs eating free sausage rolls on the daily.
I moved into recruitment as the repetitiveness of insurance broking became boring to me, when I was made redundant, I began looking at alternative career paths.
I love recruitment because every day is different, which is definitely a plus. But mainly, finding someone a new job, delivering them the good news and having a positive impact on other people’s lives is the best part.
Outside of work I’m a pretty boring bloke, I just watch football and go to the gym. I am a massive football fan, I enjoy watching games up and down the country and across Europe.

I started at Alecto in 2019. Before coming to Alecto, I worked in software sales. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do after my previous sales role and a friend of mine told me about recruitment and I thought this would be the best career move for me to make.

I started in recruitment when I joined Alecto back in August 2019. Before working in recruitment, I graduated from Henley Business School at the University of Reading with a degree in BA Business and Management.
At University, Recruitment was suggested to me as avenue where I could utilise my current skillet that I had from business and sport as well as a great opportunity to develop even more.
I love that the industry is so fast paced, it keeps you busy and never leaves you with nothing to do. On top of that you get a real buzz from placing people in new jobs and working in a great environment.
Outside of work I’m a keen sportsman, playing Field Hockey to a National Level at weekends. When I’m not playing or watching sport, I enjoy going out with mates and travelling to new places around the world with my girlfriend.
I chose the recruitment life in August 2019. Before starting in recruitment, I worked in sales for 2 years after graduating from Bournemouth University studying Business Management.
I decided to move from sales to recruitment as I wanted to build on my skillset from within a company that is progressive and ambitious.
The best thing about my job is, cliché I know, is finding people their dream role, and companies the right person for the role. Being able to make a difference to both my clients and candidates’ lives is what keeps me going.
I am a season ticket holder in the Fratton End at Pompey. I enjoy being active; playing sports as much as I can – football mainly. I am a father so the majority of my time, when I’m not at Fratton park, is spent with my girlfriend and our little girl.

I started in recruitment in June 2017 as a Resourcer, after gaining two years’ experience in the industry I joined Alecto in November 2019, since joining I have been taken back by the warm welcome I have received. Before working in recruitment I worked in a variety of roles and industries from coaching University Basketball in Portsmouth & Chichester University to working & managing in bars and nightclubs around the Portsmouth area.
After my previous experiences, I established that what I enjoyed most was dealing with different people every day and the challenge of the unexpected therefore recruitment appealed greatly and I haven’t looked back since starting out. At Alecto what I enjoy the most is having the opportunity to affect people’s lives in a positive way, by finding them their ideal jobs. The fact that the challenges occur in recruitment are constantly changing and keeping me on my toes is also something that keeps me motivated. Outside (and sometimes inside) of work I am mad about sports, mainly football and basketball but anything with scores and competition and I’ll be interested. Ultimately my main motivation is my partner and my two young children as I look to build a career and be able to provide them with everything they need.
I began working in Recruitment in November 2019 and started my career with Alecto in February 2020. Before working in recruitment, I was an Account Manager for a Sales & Marketing company which encouraged me to start thinking where else I could use my skills. I decided to venture out and start a career within the recruitment industry so I moved into a Consultant position. Now at Alecto I deal with the admin and database side to support the Consultants as best as possible. I like that my role has a lot of variety as well as being able to assist the team so they can find the right job seekers for their clients and vice versa.
Outside of work I love going on holidays and going for meals with my friends.
