Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed surveys and assessments of potential fiber optic cable routes in Glasgow.
  • Design and engineer FTTH networks, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team to plan and execute fiber deployment strategies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide cost estimates for fiber network installations.
  • Analyze survey data and create accurate, comprehensive reports to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, utility companies, and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and regulations related to FTTH deployments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in surveying and designing FTTH networks.
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping software and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic cabling, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and the flexibility to travel within the Glasgow area.

Salary and Benefits

  • £25,000 - £30,000 basic salary
