Shift Maintenance Engineer – Waste Management – FTC to Perm

Up to £42,000 p.a.

Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a superb organisation – one of the UK’s largest and most successful waste management/environmental services companies – looking to employ a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join the team on an initial Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis.

Initially starting on a 6 months contract the Engineer will move on to a permanent contract at the company following probation.

We are open to a mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled maintenance background, but applicants must have experience in heavy industry, process industry or likewise, building services or facilities maintenance unfortunately will not be appropriate for this position.

Job Duties

  • Preventative and reactive maintenance at a waste management facility on shift.
  • Shift pattern is negotiable, most likely days and nights, 12 hour shifts.
  • Electrical fault finding on PLC, mechanical maintenance.
  • Machinery includes:-
    • Recycling/power generation/energy recovery/landfill.

Applicant Profile

  • Mechanical or electrical background considered.
  • Must be willing to commute to Central/South London region.
  • Must be willing to work days/nights shift pattern of 12 hours.
  • Must have experience in process industry, ideally as mentioned above but failing this in manufacturing/FMCG/rotating equipment/process etc.
