Renewables Product Manager – Solar Thermal & Water Heating

Salary/Package – £33k – £35k basic + Pension + Life Insurance + Mobile + Laptop

My client are a specialist manufacturer of Renewable Heating Products that would include technologies such as Solar Thermal panels, Ground/Air Source Heat Pumps, Low Temperature Heat Emitters and Hot Water Storage equipment.

Due to recent expansion and re-structuring within the company an opportunity now exists for a Product Manager to join their experienced team to focus on the product management and commercial development of the company’s Renewable Heating range of products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and commercial ability to take responsibility for the development and and execution of clear product category roadmaps for the existing ranges of the company’s Solar Thermal and domestic Hot water cylinders.

Product Groups

– Solar Thermal Panles and accessories

- Unvented Domestic Hot Water Cylinders

- Unvented Solar and Heat Pump hot water cylinders

- Unvented Commercial hot water cylinders

Key Responsibilities

Define and develop product roadmaps for product categroies within remit including;

- Identifying market opportunity/need for new products, product enhancement and range extensions

- Managing product development/introduction projects;drive technical and commercial ( cost, price, margin ) specifications

- Product lifecycle management

- Commercial strategies and sales initiatives

Key Personal Attributes

- Minimum 3 years product management experience with ”functional” products ( i.e NOT fmcg or financial )

- Well organised, with strong prioritisation and time planning skills

- Experience of REnewables/microgeneration, electrical, heating or construction products market would be advantageous, in particular Solar Thermal. Ideally the successful candidate will have an existing technical knowledge of solar water heating solutions in the UK market.

- Located in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire or West Sussex
