Project Quality Engineer – Oxfordshire

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000, with excellent benefits.

Alecto Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking a Project Quality Engineer with an automotive background to work on a Renault Project on a 2 year fixed term contract.

We require qualified ‘Quality’ personnel to work closely with key suppliers and/ or customers. You will be required to develop positive working relationships that result in good technical/process improvements in a timely manner. Working closely with the engineering team, reliability team, manufacturing team and operations team to deliver class leading processes and procedures.

Must be able to develop a product from start to finish and write the supporting documentation.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- Assist with new product design and process development.

- Establish significant and critical characteristics with customers and suppliers.

- Driver of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning Process) process with suppliers during project phase.

- Co-ordination and participation in new gauge / check fixture measurement system analysis including calculations (R&R studies).

- Support trials toolmakers/ equipment manufacturers to provide required Quality advice and support.

- Statistical analyses of results from capability studies and produce reports.

- Liaison with Production Engineering and Programme Management during and following analysis to enable process development.

- Presentation of dimensional results to customer during build status events.

- Co-ordinate obtaining fit and finishes approval from customer.

- Co-ordinate obtaining colour and grain approval from customer.

- Co-ordinate obtaining master samples from customer.

- Compilation of customer APQP files.

- Quality engineering of new products onto site.

- Knowledge of quality standards.

Must have:

- ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) in engineering or relevant experience

- Quality Engineer with a background working in the automotive sector.

- Project experience

- Customer relationship experience.

- Strong influencing and communication skills.

- Demonstrable success in leading people and projects

- A team player with a positive, logical and flexible attitude
