PROJECT MANAGER – WASTE MANAGEMENT. S/E UK £42K – £45K + BENEFITS
Due to an increasing presence within the Waste Sector, our client, one of the UK’s Leading Waste Management companies have a requirement for an experienced Project Manager to join their team and provide support to their operations within the South East region of the UK.
This is a pivotal role which will involve the financial, legal and environmental impacts of the development of over 45 sites on a project by project basis and will hold full budgetary responsibility whilst ensuring the projects are delivered in a timely and well managed manner.
Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager, you’ll be managing a project team to successfully deliver individual projects in accordance to current H&S guidelines and legislation whilst ensuring every project is delivered on time to scope and on budget which will include managing contractors and suppliers to ensure they are on time, and within scope and budget.
Other key aspects include:
Facilitation and management of the formulation of project scopes and tenders and participate in the selection of suppliers and contractors and providing monthly progress reports covering time, cost and quality including the responsibility for ensuring project administration is undertaken.
The support of the current engineering teams via discussion and process development including regular site visits and attend all necessary and relevant project, supplier and client meetings.
To be considered for this role you’ll need extensive experience of M&E / Construction projects of small to medium size and be educated to degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering / geology / environmental science and hold a NEBOSH general certificate. Knowledge of civil engineering along with ICE / NEC forms of contract would also be a distinct advantage.
You’ll require excellent communication and decision making skills with the ability think on your feet. As a team player you’ll be self-motivated and able to demonstrate lateral thinking in order to resolve problems and issues and aside from the previously mentioned skills, you’ll also be capable of managing a varied workforce and be able to communicate to senior management level. Excellent organisational skills are essential as is a flexible attitude to work and work locations.
A valid driving licence is also an essential requirement and previous experience within the Waste Sector and / or Process Driven Environment would also be highly desirable.
