Planning Manager – Leicestershire

Salary: up to £45,000 with benefits

Alecto Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking a Planning Manager based in Leicestershire.

My client is one of the fastest growing wind distribution and site development businesses in the UK. With this in mind, they are looking to hire an experienced Chartered Planner to join the team and to take a lead on planning matters.

This candidate will run the department and push through applications to drive the business forward.

Planning experience is a must.

Knowledge of the renewable energy sector, specifically medium scale wind turbines, or have experience in the telecoms planning industry, is a distinct advantage.

The role and skills required to carry out this role efficiently include:
* Project management.
* Submission & monitoring of planning applications.
* Production of supporting documentation such as planning policy statements & design & access statements.
* Appointment & management of subcontractors such as ecologist specialists, LVIA specialists & archaeologists.
* Researching & writing development appraisals.
* Developing & fostering relationships with new & existing clients through the provision of specialist planning advice.
* Attending client & site visits, and offering appraisals on project feasibility.
* Negotiation & liaison with local authorities and parish councils.
* Presenting at planning committee meetings.
* Working knowledge of national planning policy guidance notes & statements.

The role will require an energetic individual who is able to use their own initiative to work within a fast paced, sometimes chaotic, environment. We are looking for someone who would be described as enthusiastic, a team player, diplomatic, and who possesses good oral and presentation skills.
