EXPERIENCED GRINDER / MACHINIST

Contract – 6 months initially, with a possibility of a permanent position after 6 months. Salary approx £19,000

The main tasks:

To work as part of the Machining & Plating workshop team, primarily in the

Grinding section on tasks involving:

• ‘All aspects of grinding using a variety of cylindrical, surface, internal and planetary grinding machines’.

The successful candidate is expected to have:

• Experience in cylindrical and surface grinding.
• Experience in grinding chrome or internal and planetary grinding would be an advantage.
• Good level of numeracy and literacy
• Ideally a recognised apprenticeship in a machining discipline
• Awareness of H&S requirements
• Good attention to detail and ability to work to high aviation standards
• Flexible and adaptable attitude to work and working time
• Level of fitness to work mostly in a standing position
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills in an aviation environment

Working hours: Mon.-Fri. 39 hrs/wk
