Our client, a leading Waste Management company with sites throughout the UK has a requirement for a Gas Engine Technician to join their team at one of their sites in Bury, Lancashire.

As a Gas Engine Technician and reporting to the Area Supervisor you’ll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of gas powered – power generation plant and associated equipment situated on a Waste to Energy (WtE) facility. Duties will involve both planned and reactive maintenance coupled with operation and maintenance of gas collection and flare systems whilst adhering to strict health and safety legislation.

To be considered for this position, you’ll need a minimum of city & guilds qualification or equivalent in a mechanical discipline along with a good understanding of electrical principles. Experience in the maintenance or repair of large 10 or 12 cylinder reciprocating engines used in HGV / Marine applications is also essential and you’ll also need to have a full current UK driving licence.
